Blechman, founder of the Capital Institute, and Levinson, author of Guerrilla Marketing ( LJ 2/15/84) and Guerrilla Marketing Attack ( LJ 2/15/89), define guerrilla financing as "a step-by-step method to finance any type of business anywhere in this country, no matter what the circumstances." They describe the five steps to financing as evaluating assets, matching appropriate sources with each asset, employing guerrilla financing techniques (one chapter lists 101 such techniques), making a proper presentation to a source, and negotiating the best financing terms. The authors also discuss potential financing sources such as government financing, venture capital, and bank financing. Names and addresses of key sources are provided.
