About the Author
Murugesan Venkatapathi was born in Coimbatore. He joined a military boarding school at the age of 10; played hockey for Tamil Nadu and represented his University in other sports, primarily to stay away from his classes, he avers. Destiny turned him away from becoming a fighter pilot or lawyer, while the family wisdom nudged him into engineering. Finally, Physics, his first love, caught up with him during his graduate days at the University of North Carolina. He finished his PhD at Purdue University and worked there for a few years. In 2009, he took up a position at the grand old Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, where he is Assistant Professor, working in the areas of Physics and Applied Mathematics. Simply Wonderful

It is indeed a good book. Mostly physicists and philosophers included. However, the best ones are Muru's own quotes. The book truly indicates Muru's deep introspect into these subjects and his personal experiences.

While the book can be read in less than an hour, some of Muru's quotes are still ringing in my ears. A few can definitely persuade one to brood over these short sentences which truly have a tendency to become messages.

About the Author
Istvan Novak is a distinguished engineer of signal and power integrity at Sun Microsystems. He is a fellow of IEEE for his contributions to signal-integrity modeling, measurements, and simulations. Dr. Novak has been working on high-speed signaling and power distribution designs of Sun's V880, V480, V890, V490, T1000, T2000, T5120 and T5220 mid-range server families. His new technology development work with laminate suppliers, printed-circuit fabricators and component vendors resulted in the introduction of the first sub 2-mil laminates and controlled-ESR bypass capacitors for Sun servers. Dr. Novak developed a new validation methodology for the measurement of a wide range of power-distribution components, such as DC-DC converters, bypass capacitors and printed-circuit-board power-ground laminates. The methodology has been presented in several conference papers, two of which won the best paper awards. Dr. Novak carries 24 years of international consulting and instructing experience, and 28 years of design experience in the field of high-speed and high-frequency circuits and systems. He is an international consultant and instructor with 30 years of experience in the field of high-speed and high-frequency circuits and systems. Dr. Novak holds 25 patents in power distribution, signal integrity, and digital signal processing, is the co-author of Frequency-Domain Characterization of Power Distribution Networks; and he has published more than 100 technical papers. Dr. Novak has worked and consulted for several companies in the computer and telecommunications industry, to do clock- and power-distribution networks, switching-mode converters as well as various high-speed backplanes, PCI buses, and copper and optical interconnects in the GB/s range. As a scholar who has worked as a newspaper editor, Willis is convincing about the need to link the academy and the vineyard. In his prologue and epilogue, he clearly―often eloquently―makes the case for more communication, trust, and respect between thinkers and doers. Yet the eight chapters forming the heart of the book might do little to promote his cause. In essence, they summarize dozens of articles that appeared in the 1980s in two prominent research forums, Journalism Quarterly and Newspaper Research Journal, and arrange the summaries according to theme. This approach has produced a useful compendium, but at the expense of synthesis, analysis, a strong authorial voice, and, yes, the passion and human interest so necessary to books aimed at building bridges. About the Author

Jim Willis is associate professor of Journalism at Ball State University and is an Indianapolis-based consultant to the media. A veteran of 12 years in newspapers, Willis is a former editor at the Dallas Morning News and reporter at the Daily Oklahoman, and he holds the PhD in journalism from the University of Missouri. His first book, Surviving in the Newspaper Business, appeared in 1988.

About the Author
Cheryl A. Coker, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Plymouth State University. Her interest in skill acquisition stems from her experiences as a coach and an international competitor in track and field. She has written numerous journal articles and book chapters in addition to this book. She has also given more than 60 presentations at national, regional, and state conferences, including the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and the North American Society for Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (NASPSPA). Coker is a Fellow with the Research Consortium of AAHPERD, was named as the 2006 Southwest District AAHPERD Scholar, and recently served as the president of the Southwest District of AAHPERD.

Finally, a book that gives clear, well thought out exercises that will challenge you. This book does not promise a quick fix, which we all know is not realistic, but what it does promise is results if you are willing to put in the work. This book teaches you how to create your own workout plan from the exercises given. It is set up so that anyone from the beginner athlete to the elite athlete can devise a workout that will challenge you and start you on a path to get the results you've been wanting. At the beginning of 'Core Fitness,' there is a core test that will show you exactly where you need to start. The exercises are broken down between upper abs, lower abs, obliques, and total core and each exercise is shown with modifications for the beginner and advanced versions. In addition to the core exercises, the last chapter discusses the importance of including HIIT workouts and cardio workouts into your overall exercise regimen with a clear plan for how to include those in your workout routine. In the end, this book is an excellent guide, and I know I'll be able to use it over the long term to reach my goals.

One of the better core exercise books on the market right now. This book provides men and women with a plethora of core exercises that can help you look your best when your on the beach or pool during the summer months.

I am loving this book. Instructions that are to the point along with pictures showing you how to do each workout. It comes with a training log for you to use each time you workout. Great for both men and women to use alone or together. Don't miss out on this book.
